Types of Internships Available:

Internet Marketing:
Marketing Interns will work alongside a member of our marketing staff. The intern will learn critical techiniques encompassing all aspects of marketing for the internet. The intern will learn valuable internet marketing skills such as:

web site submittal procedures
writing and distributing press releases announcing websites
application process of websites for web awards
effective writing techniques for web promotion
analyzing market trends and statistics to apply to a internet marketing plan
creating interactive web reports to show effectiveness and standing of web sites

Programming Interns: Programming Interns will work under the supervision of one of our expert programmers and will have the opportunity to work on website data base manipulation and electronic commerce. Interns will assist with maintaining our web servers, managing our mail systems and maintaining our LAN servers. Programming interns must be self-starters and independent problem solvers. Must have at least a basic knowledge of UNIX. Interns will learn:

UNIX Systems Admin.
Perl/CGI Programming
Java Script Programming

Web Development Interns: The intern will work on the actual planning and production of our world class websites and will have the opportunity to produce a personal web page. Interns will assist staff web developers and will also work independently on web projects. Most web development interns will have a graphic arts or multimedia background. A lot of work is done with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, so knowledge of these programs is helpful, as is html knowledge. Web Development interns will learn critical skill needed to do:

Web site production and planning that adheres to our standards of high quality and innovation
Button and Banner Production

All of our interns are expected to come away with a broader understanding of computers, the internet, web design and html.

About our Program: Our internship program is offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer for a period of approximately four months. The internship program is typically done through a college for college credit. This is the norm, but not the rule. All of our internships are unpaid, for they are meant to be purely a learning experience.

WebLabs is conveniently located in the suburban community of Fitchburg Massachusetts. We are in close proximity to New Hampshire and are 40 miles west of Boston.
Important: If you plan on doing your internship in the winter months, bring your skis, and make sure you wax 'em. We here at WebLabs participate in the down-hill racing program at Wachusett Mountain. We could use some fast skiers on our team. Let us know if you would like to join us!
