INSCI Announces Strategic Alliance with Datawatch

INSCI to Integrate Datawatch's Report Mining and Analysis Software into its Document Management Systems

Westborough, MA - June 19, 1996 - INSCI Corp today announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Datawatch Corporation. The two companies will work together to integrate Datawatch's MonarchTM for Windows report mining and analysis software into INSCI COINSERV Document Management Systems. The end result of this development effort will be a totally integrated system that combines INSCI's state-of-the-art document storage and retrieval capabilities with the decision support capabilities provided by Datawatch's Monarch software.

COINSERV systems provide a means for storing, indexing and retrieving massive amounts of page-formatted archival information using high speed optical disks as the storage media. Incorporating Monarch functionality into the COINSERV product will enable users to quickly access and retrieve archived information and then use Monarch to analyze this data. Monarch will be used to filter, sort, and chart data, to build data models that are automatically refreshed with the current data by COINSERV, and to prepare COINSERV document data for export to any other PC application such as spreadsheets and databases.

“The strategic relationship between Datawatch and INSCI will ultimately enable organizations to use large digital data repositories created by the COINSERV systems as a basis for decision making. By filtering, sorting, and charting data with Monarch, analysts and executives will be able to learn more about their operations, identify trends, and determine areas in need of attention. Monarch will help them quickly move up the knowledge continuum,” said John Gillis, INSCI's Chief Operating Officer.

“The combination of COINSERV and Monarch results in an easy-to-use, easy-to-implement business intelligence system at a fraction of the cost of other approaches,” said Scott Baker, Datawatch's VAR Program Manager. “It provides a much simpler alternative to the EIS-, OLAP-, data warehouse-based decision support systems.”

The COINSERV product is installed in customer sites which span all major vertical industry segments. The system is supported on many UNIX platforms and provides LAN\WAN connectivity to Windows and DOS PCs and UNIX terminals, providing a true client\server environment. COINSERV also provides native terminal connectivity to most mainframe and mini-computer systems. Over 100,000 copies of Monarch are currently in use.
