Flagship product enables electronic commerce, opens Windows NT market to INSCI
WESTBOROUGH, MA (November 5, 1997) . . . . INSCI Corp (Nasdaq:INSI) today announced that its COINSERV for Windows NT software is available for immediate shipment. The software product opens the burgeoning market of Windows NT users to INSCI, which had previously sold only UNIX-based products designed for high-volume enterprise applications. COINSERV for Windows NT is a high-speed/volume software product that allows users to store documents on low-cost optical disks for easy retrieval and archiving in a Windows NT client-server environment. According to the announcement by Chairman & CEO Dr. E. Ted Prince, the new product, which incorporates state-of-the-art features, has been in development for over two years and is anticipated to be used to enable Internet commerce, among other applications.
Prince commented, COINSERV for Windows NT was designed for NT users, but incorporates similar high-volume capabilities to departmental levels and is scalable to the enterprise level, with a full suite of features, advantages and benefits developed by INSCI over many years of selling storage and archiving systems to the UNIX world. Not only is the NT market growing at an astounding pace, but forecasters are telling us that over the coming months and years, businesses will adopt digital document repositories as the primary means of document storage and retrieval. COINSERV for Windows NT, with INSCI's Imaging, Workflow and WebCoins software, will enable users to distribute documents over the Internet, and is one of very few products that can handle the massive volumes of documents required for electronic commerce.
With the launch of COINSERV for Windows NT, he said, INSCI is well-positioned to leverage the accelerating momentum in the Microsoft NT and digital computer output markets, which are forecast to grow at mid-double digit rates over the next several years.
INSCI's world-class strategic partners, including Unisys, Xerox, Fuji Xerox, First Data Investor Services, Stratus and Moore Business Systems, are currently joint-marketing INSCI's high-end UNIX digital document repository, Advanced COINSERV. Advanced COINScan and COINSflow are the imaging and workflow components which can be tightly integrated with Advanced COINSERV. Print documents can be accessed through Web sites via INSCI's WebCOINS software, which allows the viewing of many different types of documents that are produced on a variety of printers.
INSCI Corp develops software for the digital document back office for electronic commerce. INSCI's products include UNIX and Windows NT based client/server electronic printing and document management software utilizing raid, optical disk, CD and automated tape libraries to index, archive, retrieve and distribute computer-generated documents and scanned images including statements, reports, invoices and transaction data. The Company markets its products through a combination of direct sales force and marketing relationships with companies including Unisys, Xerox, Fuji Xerox, First Data Investor Services, Stratus Computer and Moore Business Systems.
