INSCI launches new digital archiving capabilities
for rapid growth of Storage Area Networks INSCI ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF COINSERV 2.1 FLAGSHIP PRODUCT
FOR STORAGE OF E-COMMERCE DOCUMENTS ON STORAGE AREA
NETWORKSWESTBOROUGH, MA (August 17, 1999). . . . INSCI Corp (Nasdaq: INSI) today announced the availability of COINSERV version 2.1, its flagship product for electronic storage of e-commerce documents. This latest release further extends the capabilities of INSCI’s
COINSERV family of products by enabling them to work in Storage Area Network (SAN)
environments. According to INSCI Chairman and CEO E. Ted Prince, Ph.D., SANs are
emerging as the new computer storage paradigm, and this area is expected to grow rapidly as the
need to track, store, view and send electronic commerce documents becomes pervasive in the
marketplace.
Dr. Prince commented, "INSCI is widely recognized as a visionary and leader in the
digital document archiving and Internet presentment market. Some time ago, we realized that the
emerging e-commerce market would require the capability to put documents such as statements
and invoices on the Web, resulting in turn in the need for ultra-large capacity storage for those
documents."
"SANs are the way this problem is being resolved," Dr. Prince continued, "and our
market-leading product, COINSERV, now handles this requirement. We are excited by the
significant additional sales potential this will provide for INSCI. The major manufacturers are
moving rapidly into this area and customers are moving just as quickly to upgrade their ownsystems to be SAN-compatible so that they can handle the huge volumes of data and documents
created by burgeoning e-commerce and on-line retail systems. INSCI’s products continue to lead
the market in their ability to handle the largest and most sophisticated tasks required in a fast-moving Web-based world."
